How Does This Work?

Everything you need to know before you submit your question.

Is this service free?
Yes, 100% free. You can submit your question at no cost. If Sean answers it on the show, you'll get the content — and the community — for free too. The site is supported by sponsors and the VoiceOverCop community.
Is Sean an actual police officer?
Sean Shapiro (VoiceOverCop) is a former traffic officer with over 15 years of experience in traffic enforcement and road safety education. He is not currently employed in law enforcement. His answers are for educational purposes — not legal advice. For legal matters, consult a lawyer.
How do I know if my question gets answered?
If you include your email address in your submission, we'll send you a direct link when your question is answered on the show. If you prefer to stay anonymous, you can still submit — but you'll have to tune in and find it yourself! That's part of the fun.
Can I submit anonymously?
Absolutely. You can choose to be credited by your first name (optionally with your city) or to stay anonymous. The host decides how each submission appears when it's published. We never share your personal details without permission.
What kinds of questions does Sean answer?
Sean focuses on: traffic law interpretation, dashcam footage analysis, road safety scenarios, police procedure during traffic stops, and general driving questions. He primarily covers Canadian law (with a focus on Ontario) but discusses broader traffic principles too. He cannot provide personal legal advice for ongoing court cases.
Can I submit dashcam footage even if nothing happened?
Yes! Confusing traffic situations, unusual intersections, near-misses, or just "was I right here?" clips are all welcome. You don't need a dramatic crash video. Sometimes the most educational content comes from everyday scenarios that leave drivers scratching their heads.
What happens to my submission if it doesn’t get picked?
Nothing public — your submission stays in Sean's review inbox. Some questions take time to get to; others might be answered as part of a broader topic. Either way, your privacy is preserved and your data isn't shared.

Still have a question?
Just ask.

No lawyers, no legalese, no judgment. Sean reads every submission and does his best to get to yours.
